    HAMILTON WINTER OPEN...March 7-8

Hamilton's next weekend swiss is the "Hamilton Winter Open" to be held on the weekend of March 7-8. There will be 3 games on Saturday at 90 minutes SD and 2 games on Sunday at 2 hours SD.

The entry fee is 40 dollars but players who email us by March 6 will get a 10 percent discount. Titled players who agree to play by the end of this weekend (Feb 15) will get a BIG discount.

After expenses we will put all the money to the prize fund. That works out to about 1000 dollars per 30 people. Our last full weekend swiss had about 40 people. (With your help we hope to increase that number!)

The Hamilton Winter Open is part of the SWOCL grand prix.

    CHESSMANIA SERIES 2009....Feb 27 to Apr 3

Our club holds CFC events most Fridays. These are typically 5 round events where you play 1 game per week. The entire cycle takes about 7 weeks since we have a 1 or 2 week break between events.

Friday series events we only charge the 3 dollar rating fee plus room rent. Room rent is 3 dollars or our very low membership rate (See our web site menu item "membership fees" for detailed info).

    Optional Prize Fund

We will be experimenting with a copmpletely optional prize fund where you pay between 3-5 dollars extra if you want to compete for prize money.

Our next Friday series is Chessmania 2009 which begins Friday February 27 and ends April 3. To see a detailed poster of this event please go to the following link:
