I remember seeing a few articles about Arnold Schwarzenegger being a decent chess player, although this is pretty vague. There is a surprising number of people who have never played an official rated game but should be in the 1600-2000 range.

Rather tough to say though. Several people estimated my rating to be about 1800 about a year ago, and it took me a full year of struggling to get perfect scores in U1600's before I finally got into U2000's. Now almost a year later (not quite) I'm still only 1821. I think I could get to 2000 from here pretty quickly, but It takes a while to get comfortable with tournaments. Often I'd say they usually have potential to reach such ratings, but it could take quite some time before they establish such a rating. Also the 25 provisional games you have to play slow you down a lot. After that you gain plenty of points, or at least that's what happened with me.

Im not surprised. It was all about Arnold. At least he didnt back out completely. But did you notice some of the "live tactics" - playing away from the stage - and "Ive got to go Im too busy" I admire her chutzpah talking him into playing further and then he leaves when he's losing. Well she was the moral victor and Arnold's no more than 1500 USCF - even though he plays the best openings.
