    GM Alexei Alexei Shirov wins M-Tel Masters by beating the leader-Carlsen in the
    last round! GM Shirov will be the top rated participant in this year's Canadian
    Open. After today's win he will surpass Vladimir Kramnik to take the number 5
    spot in the live rating list

    Ganguly wins Asian Continental Chess Championship

    Vlad, and all other ChessTalk members, I would like to inform you that

    GM Surya Shekhar Ganguly of India, who will be participating in the 2009 Canadian Open Chess Tournament in Edmonton today won the Asian Continental Chess Championship . He won on a tie-break over GM Zhou Weiqi (CHN, 2563). Both had finished the championship with identical scores of 8/11. GM Ganguly, by winning the Asian Continental Chess Championship, gains a spot in the FIDE World Chess Cup in Khanty Mansiysk 2009.
