              Notes on Fide Section:

First of all the Top Guns section will be fide rated and listed on the fide website.

In accordance with fide rules I am telling you all now that at our event in Hamilton the 1 hour late rule will be in effect. That is, you forfeit your game if you are over one hour late.

(The fide rule is the organizer needs to announce the period late the player is allowed to be, if its beyond the start time of the game. So here is your announcement.)

I will tell you all now that the Red Hill Expressway and the 403 Hamilton both can have traffic on a Saturday, so leave early just in case...

I have been interested in tie-break formulas lately. Can you tell me what you will be using?

There is less than 2 weeks to go. When will information about Hotels & Transportation be provided?
A pre-registered list should also have been posted by now. These will help the player decide better on whether to play or not.

I agree with Gary can we get some more information soon?

You can put me on the pre-reg list.
University and Chess, a difficult mix.

There’s no open section in this tournament? So it’s not really open.

There's a section in this tournament called 'Top Guns'. The section is an over 2000 rated one.

Sadly this is not a true open tournament.

Well, its not a "closed" tournament either, because anyone who wants to play can. What would you call this event - semi-open, like the Caro-Kann?

All sections are closed. In a true Open swiss tournament, there must be an open section.
