  • Timur Gareev's blindforld exhibitions...

    https://en.chessbase.com/post/timur-...ndfold-attempt

According to the above article, GM Timur Gareev played 48 simultaneous blindfold games (I assume - all 48 games began at the same time). Unfortunately - there is not much else in the report. How long did it take? The last standing simul player will have to spend as long in the room as the exhibitor. I remember when Leo Williams was giving blindfold exhibitions in the 70's, people were resigning (in promising positions) just because they had already been there for several hours and would have to be there a few hours longer. It's not a true simul if you put in a replacement player.

12 of the Gareev games ended in 20 moves or less (the opponent's ratings aren't shown).

Gareev also played a 64-game consecutive game blindfold exhibition - a "world record" (I assume one game at a time). These were mostly blitz games - how to you coordinate clock times with the few seconds it takes the exhibitor to call out the move and for the move to be played on the board? Stop the clock after every move? 10 hours to play against players of unknown ratings (and some players may have played several games).
