  • Re: Trump

The two key questions is why that guy had a big stick and why he didn't use it to defend himself. That woman should have been arrested upon the first assault. Failing that the man should have defended himself. Being gentle simply led to a worse assault by the emboldened lefties. The saying is walk softly and carry a big stick. If you are going to carry a big stick you should know how to use it.

I predict that serious violence will ensue if the left continues to use these tactics particularly against the people who are NRA proponents. I believe there has been at least one justifiable shooting in one of these situations.

What should scare people even more is that the rule of law is being ignored when assaults occur during leftist riots as long as the assaults take place on the people that the leftists disapprove of. The girl who was pepper sprayed for the "sin" of talking to Fox News affected and offended me deeply. It should offend every reasonable human being. History is being repeated and the lessons of the past are being ignored.

The only totalitarian threat that I see is from the left. For the most part the right is not interested in ruling other people and forcing people to do things that they don't want to do. The right is for free speech. The right is for dissemination of the truth. The left is not and we are seeing this over and over with the over the top craziness in the U.S.

The alt right is a bogey man largely invented by a leftist media. I think it is reasonable that when you are assaulted that you should defend yourself with an appropriate amount of force. I do not believe in letting people assault other people. At the very least the response should send the fear of God and death into the people who are initiating the violence. When I see people being kicked in the head by gangs of thugs because they are behaving in a passive way, it is clear that a passive response does not work.

I know someone who was violently assaulted and kicked in the head resulting in brain damage and an eye being detached from its socket. My personal belief is that the person who injects violence or the threat of violence into a situation first should face consequences. If that is a radical concept for some, they should grow up.

Advocating violence is enough to get you kicked off most sites on the net.....except of course for the screwball sites! Pathetic....

I agree with you, Vlad. I know you're focusing on recent events in the U.S. but your comments above should apply to everyone, left or right.

I did not have to trust the veracity of Fox news. The attack was shown live on Fox news.

                https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwzffeICkP8

This is a different angle from the one shown on Fox. In the original video the attacker's profile was shown. He was a fiftyish professor type.

I suspect that the other video is available somewhere on youtube.

You know what's truly scary about the CFC president?

So little ... perhaps none at all ... posts here about how he has moved the Chess Federation of Canada forward.

Balance that against his seemly endless time/posts spent regurgitating Trump related items of the day!

And you wonder why and how the CFC has been marginalized???

Neil, I thought you were scared by the fact that the Vice-President is as left-wing as the President is right-wing. ;^) I am not sure Paul Joseph Watson is a reputable source either.

With all due respect to everyone (take that however you like :) ), do you know what's **not** scary about the CFC President?: the CFC, a small organization with minimal (and often stretched-thin resources), has been chugging along relatively smoothly and profitably for several years now. Neil, you frequently talk about how you feel you can do great things for chess in Canada. I'm guessing that you don't need to be CFC President to do many (most?) of the things you have in mind. So get a move on, lad! Let's see what you've got to show us.

I feel the same way about the CBC. The difference is that your tax dollars don't finance Fox.

Can you give us an example of an anti-Trump ranting from the CBC?
