  • Ottawa..this your last chance to qualify for the Ontario Chess Challenge!

    You won’t want to miss this event!

    Tournament is divided into sections by school grade. Winners in each grade qualify for the Ontario Chess Challenge (OCC) which brings together the top students from all over the province.

    Only those who qualify for the OCC can participate.

    The OCC will be held in Toronto on Sunday April 23, 2017. If you win the provincial event for your grade, you will represent Ontario at the Nationals!

    When: Sunday March 19, 2017

    Where: Glebe Community Center, 175 Third Ave, Ottawa, ON

    Who can play: Students, from Kindergarten to grade 12, living in Ontario.
    There is no Kindergarten section at the National level.

    Registration: $20 for those who register by Saturday March 18. You can register on-line by clicking on this link: https://chess-math.org/event/last-ch...hess-challenge

    $25 on-site from 11am - 11:45am Tournament begins at noon and is generally over by 4pm.

    Prizes: The winners of each section receive trophies and an invitation to the Provincial Championship.

    Still 19 days to go and already entries are coming in at a good pace. The event is open to all youngsters attending school in Ontario...so if you did not qualify in your region, come to Ottawa and try again! Last time we had players from Kingston taking part!

      75 players took part in the event! Thanks to all those who promoted this qualifier to the Ontario Chess Challenge!
