  • USCF open letter to FIDE

    The USCF has written an open letter to FIDE expressing three main points of concern:

    1. The awarding of the Women's World Championship to a country that did not comply with FIDE regulations or the IOC Charter in this regard;
    2. The uncertain status of the ostensible FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov;
    3. FIDE's financial situation and its related contract with AGON.

    There is also a reference to FIDE staging the recent World Championship match in New York without communicating with the USCF in any way.

    The full text of the letter is here: http://www.englishchess.org.uk/uscf-...etter-to-fide/

    I thought it quite ironic that the letter was available on the UK website, but I see it is also available on the USCF news page too:

    I notice that comments are closed for that topic on the uschess.org website...
