    Now 1 week in, April 7 = 2,050
A good start to reach our target of 2,128 for May 1, 2017. :)
We are closing in on our target.
Membership count today is 2,102 after a significant contribution from the Grand Pacific Open.
Can we get another 26 in the next 10 days?

What would having a physical office add to the equation beyond multiplying expenses. Most of what we do and need to do is done by email or on computers.
It's a thing for the the far future, perhaps, if the CFC returns to or surpasses the high water mark of where it was well over a decade ago. The physical office was at the least used for storing & selling chess equipment (including T-shirts, caps etc.), besides national chess archive material and national chess trophies. I've probably forgotten several other uses, not to mention untried ones that might be dreamt up.

This is encouraging news. I may be slow doing my renewal this year, but intend to do so sooner or later.

Yesterday was 2017 Canadian Chess Challenge Ontario Championships in Mississauga.
Future of Canadian chess is in those kids. If you are serious about having 10,000 members then CFC should have some kind of visibility at events like this one.

This Chess'n Math event had a total of 458 players, thanks to the hard work of Leslie Armstrong and her team. There were a total of 32 regional qualifying events held across the province over the last few months.

The results should be posted on our site www.chess-math.org

We would be happy to rent space at the event next year...it would help pay the rental of the hall...which I believe was around $15,000 for one day!

Yes, we can. Membership stands at 2,129 with a few days to spare.

Congratulations to all the organizers across Canada who have made this possible and to Bob for holding everything together with baling wire and duct tape.

                    Hi Vlad:

Congratulations for seeing this as a somewhat priority for CFC - you & Bob G have patiently and steadily driven this issue home to Ctalkers, and organizers.......and the results are obvious. Good work to you both.

                      Highest since 2005. Thanks everyone.

I don't think this includes people who purchased tournament memberships. At least another 1000.
Anyone know how many members in the FQE membership?

                            Hi Paul:

Technical question - do any of the 2,100 odd CFC members we've been talking about, also hold FQE memberships?

I, for example, have an FQE rating number, but as far as I know, I am NOT an FQE MEMBER......... but FQE does sell FQE memberships, don't they?

Ignoring the CFC stats, how many members in good standing does the FQE have (And do any of them also have CFC Membership?)?

                            Bob A
