  • CYCC qualified players as at today May 9, 2017

    To All parents / Players,

Please find the latest update on the qualified players to this year CYCC at Saulte Ste Marie ( by name and qualified events ). All players have to be qualified through CYCC qualifiers or top ten CFC rating by their age group. There will be only certain exceptions for example if you are Canadian but currently lives abroad.

Winners at CYCC will be Official players to WYCC ( Uruguay ) and WCCC ( Brazil ) this year.

There are a couple CYCC left for players not qualified yet but interested to play in CYCC. Grab these last opportunities to qualify for Canada premier youth chess tournament for you to represent Canada at the World stage. It will be a huge experience for the player to go and play at the WYCC/WCCC.

I took a quick look at the list and there is allot of repetitions.
Can't you sort list by member number and remove duplicate entries?

Another questions is why it is more difficult to qualify for OCC than for CYCC?

None of the qualifiers from the BCYCC (March 25-26) are included in the lists.

          Of course, we could!
But don't you agree sorting alphabetically by name is better?
Removing duplicate entries would be more work, and then somebody would complain anyways. :)

Thank you Gary! I'd like to point out that one of the remaining qualifiers at that link will be held in Montreal on June 04.

It is open to players from any province and there were already a couple of inquiries from the National Capital Region. If you are from the Ottawa area and you child hasn't qualified for the CYCC yet, you are very welcome to try to do that in Montreal.

See all the details at the CFC link above, or directly in the tournament flyer.
