Re: Re : Pre-registration list (Canadian Championship)

I am wondering if pairings, results, and games from the Canadian Championship, which started today in Montreal, will be posted on this site as the tournament proceeds. I don't see anything on chesstalk as of yet for round one.

Best wishes to all players and organizers! :)

It appears that they are putting things up on Chess-Results:

Thanks Frank! The FQE came to the rescue of this CCCC on a very short notice (we heard from many players now who would love to take part in this event but couldn't because they already had other commitments) but as usual, we were able to create an atmosphere conducive to serious chess.

All rounds are held in two rooms that are in the very end of a cul-de-sac at the Olympic Stadium. There is excellent air flow and good sound insulation. Players seem to like the conditions.

We are happy to have John Upper on-site for both rounds today. Looking forward to have his excellent photos uploaded soon.

Thanks to Vadim for helping arrange my visit. The tournament is being held in two rooms, so it feels less crowded than in 2012, and the room with the top 5 boards has a skylight, which is nice. The playing rooms are a long way from the exits, so smokers are getting a lot more exercise than usual :)

Nikolay won his games on Wednesday against the two GMs, with Black both times... though with a big assist from Bator, who hung a piece to a two mover in a RNNppp v RBBppp ending with all the pawns on the f-h files.

Photos, excellent or not, are posted on the CFC Newsletter facebook page and shared on the CFC facebook page:

If I've tagged any of the photos incorrectly, please comment with corrections.

I've annotated Aman's win from round 1 on the CFC Newsfeed:

I plan to post Nikolay's win over Alexandre on the Newsfeed later today.

There are so many lovers of new threads but they are miserable for creating a new one for the Championship.
