There are more tournaments in the CFC website and the next one coming up this weekend in GTA area is Toronto Open organize by Annex Chess Club. More than 130 players at the last count.

And the following tournament will be Burlington rapid 1 day tournament and then follow by Kitchener Fall which should fall on Sep 16-17.

More tournaments should be welcome by all chess players where you get to play real games and also make come $$$ if you are good at it. More tournaments also should mean better income for CFC in terms of rating fees. Hopefully CFC will be able to take advantage of this huge rising of number of players and do more for Chess in Canada. Get in touch with more organizers especially for National events like Canadian Closed / Canadian Women's Closed etc. These events should highlight the growing and success of our National players.

          Cheers

Next tournament coming up will be the RA fall Open which will be this weekend and then followed up Varennes Open which will be on Oct 6-8 and then by Aurora Open Oct 14-15 again ( might break their record of 140 players the last time and 45 players at the moment ).

This will be followed up by Mississauga Open in early Dec and then Hart House holidays one week before Christmas

There will be more tournaments in 2018 and more interesting ones too.

This is certainly good for chess players.

I did learnt some tactics and managed to win some $$$ at Kitchener September albeit in the U1600 section which is a bonus....You could too
