That's kinda sorta interesting, thanks for the share.

Here's some actual chess poetry submitted by you and you and you too:

Wayyy back in 2005 through the OCC I started a global quest for chess poetry and ran a monthy competition. The prize? A pie ... of course. I sent real pies all over everywhere and in the process amassed a collection of great chess poetry! In late 2008, from my own graphic design firm, I threw together a few of them and uploaded to issue.com as a quick flipbook.

    I still don't know why.

Competitive player Ken Kowal of Winnipeg is a published poet. I don't think he plays anymore, but his work is pretty good. I'm sure there are others like him.

Poetry by chess players may be just as interesting as poetry about chess.

Phil Marinelli of Windsor a longtime colourful local chess player and story teller published a book of largely chess themed poetry called Child of a Lustful God. Amazon has me listed as an editor but actually I had nothing to do with it other than helping get it on Amazon and reading a pre-production version of the manuscript several years before it was actually published.

I have two poetry collections by Michel Keith Bateman of Victoria BC, a longtime chess player and award-winning poet. The titles are "The Spirit Pond" (1989) and "The Blind Hand of God" (2003). "There is a place where silence dwells/ In eerie solitude sits he, and/ Plays a game with Father Time..."

                Chess Poetry

                September 22, 2017

I checked my book collection and found these titles:

                1) Saveilly Tartakower – Anthology of German Poetry (in Russian) 1922
                2) A.F. Mackenzie - Chess: Its Poetry and Its Prose 1887
                3) John Augustus Miles – Poems and Chess Problems 1882
                4) Vladimir Nabokov – Poems and Problems 1970
                5) J. Mieses – Poesie des Schachs 1920

Remember that Nabokov called chess problems the poetry of chess, so in some of these may not have actual poems!
                ______

A selection of titles from the Royal Library at The Hague. This list is not intended to be comprehensive:

                1) Ton Peters – Schaakgedichten = Chess Poetry 2006
                2) Cathy Forbes – En passant: poems & games 1989
                3) Andrew Waterman – The Poetry of Chess 1981
                4) Jeanne De Lamarter - Chess game and other poems 1952
                5) Samuel Strauss - The tenth muse 1920
                6) Vincenzo Cicchitelli - Sulle opera poetiche di Marco Girolamo Vida 1904
                7) Thomas B. Rowland – Chess fruits 1884
                8) Paul Zimmermann - Das Schachgedict Heinrich von Berngen 1883
                9) Edward FitzGerald - Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám 1859
