    The tournament champion will receive the cup

    • The first four chess boards of the open section will be broadcast live on the spot.
    • 10 sections of the open section will be available on our web site: www.echecsvarennes.ca
    • All results and matches will be posted on the Chess-result website: www.chess-results.com
    • Cadence: 40 rounds / 1h15 + 30 min. mat + 30 seconds / shot
    • Cash prices are divisible. The champion of the tournament and the 1st of each section will be determined by a tie of equality if necessary. Weighted Score for Best - Women - Cadet - Senior - Junior
    • Payment by check (Oct 3): Varennes Chess Club: CP #, 175 St-Anne Street, Varennes, QC J3X 1T5.

    Public transportation (bus line 700)

    It is possible to get to Varennes by bus (700) from the Longueuil metro.
    The return is obviously possible and the schedule is very flexible.
    The stop is at the corner of the 132 / Gabelle in front of the IGA at 5 min. of the tournament room.

      Wow.....this is indeed one of the best tournaments so far in terms of titled players and number of players.

      I think this is what other organizers should try to learn from them.

      Early notification / Clear information / Adequate information / Updated information and good prize money. I think these are all essential information what players need to see and know before they make any decision to play in the tournament.

        I'm proud to add that those 174 registered players represent eight (!) federations. Looking forward to welcome everyone, including a strong contingent from Ontario :), this Friday.
