  • Canadian Women's Zonal

A tight battle for the top is happening in Montreal. WGM Qiyu Zhou is out in front by the smallest of margins after 6 rounds. We may not have all of our top female players competing but we have many of them. Great battles! Kudos to the organizers who have faced many logistical challenges.

As I read the results table, Maili-Jade has won the zonal and the right to move on with 7 points. Qiyu and Agnes tied for second with 6.5 with Svetlana in fourth a half-point back. Congratulations to all. I look forward to seeing the games.

Bravo Maili ! I saw her playing up close in early November at the 5th RIDEF (Tunisia).
She is playing very well right now and has lots of potential left. Not surprised at all by that success !
