That link got pooched... the correct link is:

    http://chesstigers.de/live/ccm8_cwc/live.htm

(this board's dialogue box that inserts a URL is trying to be helpful by pre-inserting "http://" but in my opinion that is not at all helpful and as we see by this example, it often results in links that have "http://" on the front twice!)

You don't have to use the dialog box for links unless you want to have a custom text for the link. If you just want it to display the link as a link, paste it into the raw text and it will auto-format it for you without having to click on anything extra.

No worries... we are all learning! Personally, I usually copy a URL intact (with the http:// or whatever header piece already on there) and therefore I think it is a mistake for software to slap that in there (especially since the http:// is often not even necessary, but that is another story).

Anyway, I just wanted to correct the link, but I don't think I can edit your post (and that likely is a good thing!) lol

Anyway, as Chris pointed out, one can always just type or paste a complete URL into the text and the board software apparently will see it is a link and make it so...

As a software developer, I have always been leery of code that thinks it is smarter than the user - often that is not the case... hehe
[of course, it depends on the code and the (L)user]
