  • Do you publish your games?

    In other words:
Do your games go into Canbase? :)
    or
Should I publicize my games? (it is not a personal question)

Personally, I do not care if my games go into online databases, if the organizers take care of that (entering from scoresheets, etc), as I know that other players' games go as well. However I somehow restrain doing it myself...-

    I did a multiple-choice poll.

    (Can I edit the poll?
    The third question should be:
Tournament organizers do it for me?)
    14
    Yes
    21.43%
    3
    No
    57.14%
    8
Tournament organizers does it for me
    21.43%

Re: Do you publish your games?

I put every game that I find which includes at least one Canadian player into CanBase except -

    1) Postal games. (I may build a seperate database for them).
    2) If the opponent is a computer.
    3) If too much info is lacking (I need at least the players names, result, name and place of the event, and - ideally - the exact date of the game and both player's pre-tournament ratings - as well as the correct moves).
    4) "Casual" or "friendly" games.
    5) Games with time controls of less than an hour each (with some exceptions e.g. if one player is a GM).

There will be an update within the next couple of weeks.

Addendum - I post all available games from any tournament held in Canada (with at least 1 hour time controls).

I have yet to play a game which I consider worth publishing, so no. :p
