We are pleased to announce the following sponsorship awards for Canada’s representatives at the 38th Women’s Chess Olympiad.

Hazel Smith will receive $500 from the Seneca Hill Chess Club in recognition of her many years of contribution to the Seneca Hill Public School Chess Team.

Dina Kagramanov will receive $200 from the Seneca Hill Chess Club, where she is an instructor; and $300 from the Oriole Chess Club, where she is a regular member.

The Ontario Girls’ Chess Championship organizers are running two fundraising tournaments in October for two special guests of honour, Natalia Khougarian and Yuanling Yuan. Each of them will be awarded $150 from the proceeds.

In addition, Yuanling also received a $150 donation from the Cheng’s family and $50 from the OGCC Simuls.

We are extremely proud to be able to support the female stars of our country. Thanks to all those that have participated in the various events and clubs—they have made these awards possible.
