  • Hal Bond to report for ChessTalk from the Olympiad!

ChessTalk is pleased to announce that Hal Bond will be providing ChessTalk readers with colour commentary directly from the Chess Olympiad which begins this Thursday in Germany!

So for the Canadian perspective and some of the gossip (no not the sleeping around parts :) come to ChessTalk daily. The rounds start at 3 p.m. over there which I believe works out to around 9 a.m. in central Canada.

It's just a bunch of guys playing chess, Alan, don't worry about it. ;)

        Hi

        Well from Canada we got:

        Bluvshtein, Charbonneau, Zugic, Roussel-Roozmon, Noritsyn

        Khoudgarian, Yuan, Kagramanov, Smith, Barron

From the rest of the world...
It seems everyone except Anand is playing.
Even some of the guys who you don't normally see playing in these events, such as Topalov, Leko, Polgar, are playing this time. Hungary actually has a winning candidate team now. All the top guns: Kramnik, Ivanchuk, Carlsen, Aronian, Kamsky, Radjabov, Mamedyarov, Morozevich, Svidler, Adams, etc...

Looks like the strongest Olympiad I've ever seen.

        Go Canada !
