  • Chess Training Program

Does anyone know of a computer chess training program that is most benificial for intermediate - advanced players? About a year ago I bought Fritz 10, and although It is one of the strongest engines around, it really lacks in the training of tactics, strategies, etc. I am looking for a well known mainstream program such as Chessmaster (which I am still considering). My long term goal is to eventually improve my over the board torunament results.

If anyone has any suggestions on the best program for my needs, as a result of personal expearience or otherwise, I would greatly appreciate your comment.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Recently I have seen it (probably ver.10) for <15$ in Staples.

Fritz 11 has 2 great new features that you will find beneficial' One is a tactical puzzle solving competition on the chess server-very good to solve timed problems. The other is a new training function to practice calculation of variations. This feature is awesome and is exactly what you need. Both are new to F11.

the tactical puzzle solving on the server is available with the purchase of any chessbase product (e.g. Fritz, Chessbase, any of the databases, etc.)
