    Where were you planning to run this tournament?
    How can you run part of the tournament as an active Under 1 hr time control and the rest as a regular.
    You really must find a venue other than chess organizing.

        I admire you, Precy. Most chess players say "I'm here, entertain me."

        Not you. You say "I'm here. This is what it will take to entertain me."

        Chess is for idealists. If you can't play well enough to win the top prizes in an event get off your butt and find a job. Possibly switching to being a poet would be better than aspiring to winning class prizes in some weak event.

          Precy;
          The London Monthly Tournaments are 1 hr sudden death each round.
          Not 45 mins sd for some and then 1 hr sudden death for others unless my reading glasses are fogged up and I read it different than you do.

            As long as i will be a one day event, that should be fine!

              i think the problem Precy is that games that are less than 60 minutes are rated as Active, and games that are 60 or more are rated as Normal. I think John was suggesting that the one day thing worked fine as long as the games were all either Active or Normal.
