    Aris.
That's great! I'll be adding them to CanBase. Give priority to Open section games - it would be good to have all the games from that section.

Yeah, at this point, we should have 8 DGTs. The current plan is to have 6 for the Zonal section, and then 1 each for U2200 and U1900. However, we're still actively planning this aspect of the event.

In addition, we have some strong chess folk who are going to be pumping game scores into databases. I'm more tending to registrations at this time, but we'll publicly announce such points soon.

On a personal note, too bad you can't join us. I'll be playing at Hal's Guelph Pro-Am the weekend before, maybe meet you there? (and yeah, I'll take registrations/payments in Guelph). Best, Aris.

Hello again everyone, as of this morning, Saturday, April 6th, we've now reached 88 registrations!
There's more that have initiated emailing with me, and I'll add them as soon as they've paid, etc.

The Zonal section is already a wonderful collection of 36 strong players (2/3 with a FIDE title)!
For lower-rated players, we have our 3 Sectionals (U2200/U1900/U1600) with nice prize funds!

For more information, please go to eoca.ca, and scroll down to the entry for:
    2019 Canada Zonal & Easter Sectionals (U2200/U1900/U1600)

About the sweet hotel discount, they're GREAT with us, and it's STILL being offered until Monday.
Note that the hotel discount includes:
    - free parking pass for all days (due to waterfront area location, most parking around there costs)
    - free breakfast vouchers for Friday-Monday (there is also a nearby Tim Hortons for non-guests)
    - NEW: discount on next year's entry fee! (as the board of Tourism is rewarding us for room nights)

IF YOU WANT THE $120 ALL-IN HOTEL PRICE, PLEASE EMAIL ME BEFORE MONDAY!
I'm Aris Marghetis, and the best way to reach me is: arismarghetis at rogers dot com
P.S. we'll also have a vendor with mental energy drinks, health bars & chips, etc.

Please find below the players lists per section.
Players qualify for sections based on their highest regular CFC/FIDE ratings since registration opened.
(in the case of Quebec players, we also compare their FQE "Lente" rating)

    HOWEVER, FOR PAIRING PURPOSES:
    - Zonal section will use FIDE ratings
    - other sections will use CFC ratings
Therefore, these ratings are what's listed below:

section title surname, name (CAN) rating FIDE# CFC# FQE# bye

The hotel has offered me a few more rooms at the special $120 (all-in) rate, and I'm giving them out in the order of emails received first-come first-served.

I expect the hotel will end their offer this week. Will post registrations as soon as I can catch up on my email, we reached 85 players yesterday, and counting!

    Congrats Aris!
Plus two more IMs this weekend. My email has been blowing up, but I'm away for the weekend. I'll catch up everything overnight tonight. People do NOT need to send me money until I have confirmed their actual amount. If you've emailed me, that's enough, I'll get back to you within 24 hours. I've kept some discounted rooms on hold for these most recent registrations. Thanks.

Hello again, as expected, registrations are coming in faster, another IM and GM in the last 24 hours, WOOHOO!

But please note though that I am travelling this weekend, and so my email replying might be slower than usual.

No worries though, anyone who emails me by 11:59:59 pm SUNDAY will get the lower rates from month of March.

    Best regards, Aris.

I am unable to access the pdf flyer, the link seems to be https://s3.amazonaws.com/eoca/data/2...March+6th).pdf which goes nowhere, as far as I can tell. It's probably my fault...

UPDATE: it worked on the third attempt. Blame me.

The top section is getting there. As Kingston is midway between Ottawa, Toronto, and Montreal I would expect more Montreal players. Where are they??

I would like to see ratings than CFC and FIDE #.

Where do you copy your data from? I copy paste from Excel and the forum creates a nice table.

Hello again, I hope to play in Round 1 of the Kingston Open tonight, and so could receive registrations/payments (BEFORE I start playing my game though lol)

If you've never attended the new Kingston Opens that Dan Barlow runs, they're a GREAT event for chess friends and families! (I have to travel after Round 1)

    All the best, Aris.
