All kinds of toilet paper everywhere in Windsor unless something changed in the last 24 hours. They were even selling it at three hardware stores I visited though it was a tad pricey compared to the grocery store which always has one brand or another on special.

One of the reasons that Africa other areas are not as badly impacted by Covid as you might expect is because of the widespread use of HCQ as an anti-malaria treatment.

It's not over 'til it's over.

Health experts point to Africa's youthful population as a factor in why COVID-19 hasn't taken a larger toll, along with swift lockdowns and the later arrival of the virus.

Everything is ok -- with the collapse of fiat currencies worldwide, we can always use paper money as TP. In that respect the U.S.is better off than Canada, because they still have the $1 bill.

Just wondering: was fighting over toilet paper at Freshco part of the Upper Class Twit Of The Year competition (Monty Python)? There was jumping over a line of matchboxes, there was waking the neighbor, there was shooting yourself in the head, and a few more I can't remember.

Tony, that does not square with this comparison of case fatality rates around the world re HCQ usage. The chart I did above is striking Canada and France have banned HCQ, US partial ban in some States, India started widespread HCQ after a delay, the balance of the countries listed had no restrictions on the use of HCQ. This correlation is direct and can not be attributed to faulty data collection by that many countries.

              • Interesting watching Trump get a third Nobel Peace Prize nomination. Most deserving US President for this award since at least Jimmy Carter. To be clear: not that I think any US President should ever get such an award.

HCQ is not banned in Canada. It is on a trial base drug.

"Investigational use of approved therapies like hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine should be done in the context of a well-designed clinical trial."

"Health Canada has not authorized any drugs to prevent, treat or cure COVID-19 and has warned Canadians about products making false and misleading claims.

There are a number of medications being investigated to treat or prevent COVID-19, both in Canada and internationally. The best way to access experimental therapies is through clinical trials. Health Canada has authorized clinical trials with chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine for COVID-19. Results from large, well-designed studies are essential to determine if the benefits of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine outweigh their risks in the treatment of COVID-19. To date, data from clinical trials are limited, and the results have not conclusively shown that any specific medications are effective against COVID-19."

HCQ is not available for Dr's to prescribe despite overwhelming evidence around the world that for early high risk patients it has high efficacy. No trials are being done in Canada for prehosptilized patients in high risk groups. That is exactly the group that urgently needs it. Late stage post hospitalization it is often too late. No trials conducted for HCQ combo ie HCQ+zn2+ + anitibiotic. even though virtually all RNA viruses are treated with a combo and not a single "silver bullet drug".

                      • Vermont is the least infected state in the US with one third of the cases of the next state and only 88 active cases. A refreshing sight after seeing the stats of the other 49 and associates.

I have some info from a Washington Post article dated March 23 2020 (so it may be out of date). Here it is:

"Outside a host, viruses are dormant. They have none of the traditional trappings of life: metabolism, motion, the ability to reproduce."

                          https://www.washingtonpost.com/healt...-so-hard-kill/

So!! If the coronavirus is unable to live free (in Vermont), then perhaps it dies.

(Phew! That was hard work boys. I deserve the big yuks!!)

p.s. Noooooòoooooooooooooooooooo .... "live free or die" is the state motto of New Hampshire aaaaarrrrgggghhhhh

                          • I think you should get points for trying, Vermont and New Hampshire are close neighbors, although maybe not so close recently.

This is probably quite close to what you are denying.
