  • A Note On Hamilton Junior Champs and Conflict with Hart House

On July 4-5 Hamilton will be having its annual Junior Chess Championships. This will be a good event for younger and beginning juniors to get their first tournament experience. The entry fee will be ten dollars.

Our apologies to Hart House organizers for the conflict with their event. The YMCA, who provides our venue booked the rooms for the first weekend in July since that's when it took place in previous years. By the time I realized there was a conflict I was unable to get multiple rooms needed on weekends that time of year.

We will do our best to cater to younger and beginning juniors so that there is as little conflict as possible. Also, there is no prize fund in this event, only trophies. Given that, I think both tournaments have a very good chance to be successful.
