This must be the come-back of the year for a Canadian top player. Bator started out with two losses - in rounds 1 and 2. At that point, no doubt, Andy Shaw would have had something to say - but even thinking it must have reached GM Sambuev for it stimulated him to a state of full wakefullness as he then posted a picket fence of seven straight wins to join two GM's for the lead with two rounds to go.
Very nicely done Grandmaster Sambuev. Win Round 10 and no one will think less of you if you clinch First Prize with a quick draw in the final round .

It appears that it's only a 10-round event (not 11 as I posted). Chessbomb will be broadcasting the top few boards live today (Saturday) at 3 pm (EDT) (I think).

Unofficial results: Bator tied for first with GM Jose Fernando Cuenca Jimenez (ESP) and GM Christhian Cruz (PER).

The top 3 prizes are 1000, 750, 500 (Cuban convertible pesos), so they win 750 each. I peso = approximately (maybe exactly) 1 Euro.

Sorry - I only had access to the results on some of the first few boards.
Officially - 5 players tied for first - thus winning about 600 pesos each.
Thanh Nha Duong finished with 5.5/10; Halldor had 3.5/10.
