Vlad, in this very thread you stated that you are aware Robert Hamilton is the person who can speak on behalf of Kasparov in Canada. Robert has contacted you several times and tried to arrange a call and you have given e-mail excuses and not agreed to speak with him.

You've also stated that the Kasparov campaign has not tried to reach you which, is an outright lie based on Robert's efforts.

The truth is that the Kasparov campaign has tried to speak with you on several occasions and for whatever reason you have made yourself completely unavailable. Instead you voted to endorse Kirsan without even listening to what the Kasparov campaign had to say.

As a President that is completely irresponsible and wreaks of pre-determination based on lack of complete information.

    Sasha
I only had confirmation of Robert Hamilton being the official Kasparov representative in Canada yesterday though he may have sent something to the president at chess dot ca account which I don't use regularly. High ranking members of the Kasparov campaign claimed that we had not talked to anyone from their campaign. Either they are confused or not being truthful or simply didn't know Hal and other members of the executive had been talking to Robert or didn't recognize Robert as part of the campaign. He asked to speak to me yesterday after supper. I had relatives over. Today would not have worked. I am still firming up my schedule tomorrow. I have two kids that want lessons at the same time in the morning. There is no difference between talking to me yesterday vs tomorrow as nothing has changed or will have changed.

Edit: Unless of course there are more Globe and Mail type surprises.

What you are referring to is an unsolicited email i received from a governor/voting member. Technically you are correct in that it could be considered a contact but it did not involve any prior or future plans, It was as I said purely an informational email I received unsolicited.

Thanks. This is similar to the reaction that I get from most of the sensible people that I talk to about this.

As the author of Dilbert says when you come across a big boiling pot of crazy its best not to stir it. I will disengage.

    1) I am assuming that what the governor was said is true. Has the executive decided not to be open and transparent to its members in disclosing that they were approached and what the terms of the offer are? If it is a secret to the CFC members, why?

You have a very big mouth for someone who does not have the facts. You have no idea about me "not giving a rats ass about the CFC" and is another one of your unsubstantiated falsehoods .
As far as not making the case that Kirsan had two close aides that murdered an opposition journalist or that Kirsan is not closely involved with Putin after the numerous links I have posted then as I said before you are either blind, stupid , or dishonest. Based on several conspiracies that you have now falsely said I am involved with ( one of which you offered up an apology) I would say the latter is correct.
You don't like me so you ruin the reputation of the CFC by endorsing a third world tin pot dictator who's aides murdered an opposition journalist (yes that is the title I will always give this excuse of a person). Canada Western Europe and The United States do not share the same values as the third world. You singlehandedly tarred Canada's reputation. Your actions speak louder then even your big mouth about who cares about the CFC.
I can see your brilliant talking points, "I did not like one of Mr Kasparov's friends so I endorsed a third world tin pot dictator who's aides murdered an opposition journalist". Good luck with that Vlad!

You clearly thought the executive could make the decision on the FIDE election when you were trying to rush us and bully us into making the decision to nominate Garry Kasparov within days of your first contact. The executive was not so pliable and compliant as you would have hoped. You send in your agents into the governors forum and get them to start a debate as to who should be voted for and endorsed. We engage in that debate and you lose there. The executive took that straw poll and discussion as a free and clear mandate to vote the way that their consciences dictated.

There was an abstention or two along the way but the bulk of the executive voted for Kirsan. Not one person voted for Gary. So now that you have failed twice you want to reopen the debate at the AGM using a whole new crew of voting members but the problem is that there won't be a whole new crew. Mostly its the same people. You lost one somewhat effective and likeable spokesperson for Kasparov in the person of Bob Armstrong and replaced him with Sasha Starr who will probably not be nearly as persuasive or effective as Bob was judging from his performance here. Is this the way democracy works in Sid's world? You keep taking the same vote until you get the result you want? And now we learn that in Sid's world it is cowardly to oppose an outside crew that wants to come in and steal the FIDE election and really doesn't give a rats ass about the CFC, or Canadian chess and its issues. You have taken up more of my time than you really deserve. You are rude and obnoxious and feel somehow entitled to dictate our vote and throw a tantrum and call me names when you don't get your way. You behave like a petulant child who is denied a new toy in the store.

I don't believe as you have claimed that a vote for Kirsan is tantamount to a vote for Putin which is like a vote for Hitler. There are two links in your chain of logic that are clearly broken there. You have not made your repeated case that Kirsan is a murderer and a thug. Further you have not indicated why Gary has cozied up to Kirsan in the past if he is this monster that you are now claiming that he is. Even a member of your ticket Leong had some pretty nice things to say about Kirsan in the past. So it seems to me that from the point of view of the Kasparov team Kirsan is a great guy until he represents an obstacle to the anointed one at which point he becomes the Devil incarnate.

I'm concerned that Canada's ashamed itself for no benefits to our chess players (except, perhaps, a few individuals). Here is another Vlad's quote: "I want the person who is best for chess in Canada and in the world to win". What makes KI the best for chess in Canada? Executives, stop hiding behind Vlad's back, answer here to all of us, and the Governors, whom you've made a laughing stock, taking away all their powers.

You probably should apologize to Gary while you are at it as i saw you post some lulu's about him, on the other hand it doesn't matter any more, you accomplished your dirty little deed. The horse is out of the barn.

My understanding is that Hal Bond had a number of conversations with you. Contrary to what you think this is not the most important item that has been on my plate for the last three months.

I have no doubt you have a lot on your plate. My point is that what you deemed "abuse" and "disrespectfulness" had already occurred when you were on the phone with me claiming you were "leaning towards Gary" and that you would be "back to us in a few days".

"As I said before this allegation didn't stop Leong or Kasparov from saying very nice things about Kirsan in the past. You don't seem to want to address this point."

Professional courtesy is very different then having an entire countries chess players (THE CFC) endorse a candidate and continue to support him as the leader of FIDE.
Kirsan's past is an inconvenient truth. Sort of like a fart that lingers in the pants that everyone tries to ignore. Well unfortunately the entire country of Canada will now be subjected to this stench. Good going!

"I suggest that you look up embezzlement in the dictionary. It seems to have a different definition than the one which you are attempting to apply."

And...so???? How much did FIDE or Kirsan pay the CFC for the endorsement? How much money does Hal Bond get paid for as an arbitrator on an annual basis by FIDE?
We would like to know what price you put on the reputation of the CFC and the country of Canada?
Actually this is a quote from one of Vlad's posts: "The prize of the endorsement is available".

It was obvious to you but not to anyone else. Kasparov's biggest problem was that his candidacy never filled me with any enthusiasm so I was not a very good spokesperson for the idea of voting for and endorsing him.

Nothing personal Bob... :) I didn't say that ALL the posts in that thread were little or no value (just MOST)
I can't even follow threads that huge anymore since it is hard to zero in on new posts (other than the most recent post).
I just can't be bothered anymore - this thread is rapidly reaching that status too but not because it is large ;)
