That might be a temporary condition as a result of the Bermuda Party? Seems to have energized Eric Hansen all the same!

And WOW, Cuba shares the lead with Azerbajan - old Fidel must be champing on his Cohiba!
Wouldn't be a bad thing if Cuba won it all!

    2 excellent results of 2-2!!
I wonder when did it happen the last time that Canada played against two top 10 teams in a row and did not lose a match?

In many respects, the last 2 results are ideal outcomes. Canada's open team is consistently proving proving itself equal to the heavyweights, while avoiding the yo-yo effects of winning then losing. As a result we at least maintain our standing, probably slowly moving up, and at the same time getting consistently strong opponents. It's all good folks.

At the same time, too bad today regarding the women's team. Belarus was an evenly matched opponent, so the hope wss there to do better. Hang in there ladies!

And Eric Hansen's win was against Illya Smirin, the winner of the recent World Open in Washington DC.

Anton has now drawn the world's #5 (Nakamura) and #13 (Gelfand) in back-to-back games (:

Good job Anton is not playing Keith Arkell today. He's apparently won the R plus B vs R theoretically drawn endgame 18 times in 18 opportunities (:

Gelfand missed in his winning chance! It's a draw now! :D

Eric draws first blood so Canada should seemingly do no worse than draw this match. And with Bator better on board 4 we definitely have winning chances (:
