I'll start a new thread on this subject.

    In another thread Kerry wrote:

Actually, Razvan was a regular at the Burlington (ON) CC for quite some time when he was in elementary school ...
I still remember him dutifully entering moves on his Monroi ...

Edit: I just checked the Monroi website... do they still operate?
Last tournament listed where the devices were used was a long time ago and
the personal device is listed as 'out of stock - check again in October'.
The site is still operational. They are providing games - mostly from India and some US events. http://monroi.com/chess-games.html
They are still keeping up to date with documents required by the Quebec government. https://www.registreentreprises.gouv...Service=S00436
I haven't seen more than one or two in use in any recent Montreal tournament. They are still a good idea - if the price was lowered to $100 (or less), and their technology was improved. Otherwise - DGT boards seem to be the way to transmit multiple games (thanks to Luc Forget, there are up to four boards available at Montreal events). They are expensive - 600 euros and up (more for the wireless versions). http://www.dgtshop.nl/index.php/44/e-boards

A room full of DGT boards.... http://www.chessdom.com/wp-content/u...a-Grande-2.jpg
