    Dear Member Federations,

As you have been previously informed, the FIDE Council approved that 2022 will be declared the “Year of Women in Chess”. A detailed action plan to boost female participation in all areas of chess life has been developed, touching different topics related to marketing, networking, and enhanced communication.

As a first step, we would like to strengthen our cooperation with our counterparts in the Federations, so we can engage them in all these initiatives. Could you please get back to us at women@fide.com and indicate who is the person responsible for women in chess in your federation?

We would like to get a first-hand report and overview of what women in chess initiatives are being currently developed. All this will provide FIDE and its WOM Commission with some useful information to design strategies for development.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

    Eva Repkova
Chair of the FIDE Women's Commission
