    This year, Latvian Chess Federation kicks off the International Children and Youth Chess Festival "Rudaga - Kaissa 2021 Online" which will be held from July 23-24. The event is organized by the non-governmental organization "Rudaga Plus", Latvian Chess Federation, and is endorsed by FIDE.

    The registration fee for participation in the tournament is 10 EUROS. Players from around the world are invited and shall send the completed registration form by July 21, 2021.



    The time control for both stages will be 5 minutes + 3 seconds increment starting from the first move. The tournaments will be played on Chess.com.

    The tournament will consist of two stages: Qualifier Stage and Final stage.

    Dates/Times:

    Qualifier A*: U12 and U16 (Open and Girls play together)
    - Friday, July 23
    - 11:00 CET, Rounds 1-11

    Qualifier B*: U12 and U16 (Open and Girls play together)
    - Friday, July 23
    - 17:00 CET, Rounds 1-11


    From each Qualifier event, top 8 Players per category (Top 8 Open and Top 8 girls) will be qualified to the final stages.
    * All players can play in one or both qualifier tournaments based on their age group. In the qualifier stage, all rounds will be played immediately after the end of the previous round.

    Prizes
    - All tournament participants will receive electronic certificates of participation.
    a. Winners and awardees (1-3 places) will receive electronic diplomas.
    b. The winner of the tournament in open and girls’ sections in each category (U-12, U16) receives Accreditation for the World Chess Olympiad 2022, an entrance ticket for the Opening Ceremony.

    Players taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in the category U-12 (open & girls) will be awarded a free online 1.5-hour group lecture with Antoaneta Stefanova – Women's World Champion (2004-2006).

    Players taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in the category U-16 (open & girls) will be awarded a free online 1.5-hour group lecture with Ruslan Ponomariov – FIDE World Champion (FIDE World Chess Championship 2002).
