Good stuff Dilip! Until I joined Movember, I didn't know that 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer.Originally posted by Dilip Panjwani View Post
Thumbs up, Aris, for undertaking this valuable activity!
With money donated by the similar 'Ride for Dad' folks, I started a reseach project which has led to improvements in the delivery of radiotherapy for prostate cancer (significant reduction in side-effects for the same benefit)...

Thumbs up, Aris, for undertaking this valuable activity!Originally posted by Aris Marghetis View PostHi y'all, so what's Movember all about? How does this somewhat crazy skin-irritating annual tradition keep going?! Well, I think it's because it's uniquely helpful for some critical issues, and it helps a LOT of people! It's about beating prostate cancer (so many men get it), and it's about beating testicular cancer (younger men get it more) - It's also about men's mental health, 3 out of 4 suicides are men.
I'm proud that this is my 8th year with Movember. Last year, friends and family donated over $1500, and this year, my good friend Eric has motivated me to raise our goal to $2000! It's easy, just go to the link at the end of this email. And even if you don't think you'll donate, check out the website. In the end, it's the spreading AWARENESS of these issues, that helps us develop WINNING solutions.
Finally, to make this more interesting, for my third time, I'm doing an ultra-walk-run. On Thursday, November 10th, I'm walking 28.9km, and then running 21.1km (half-marathon), for a total of 50km!!

Thank you, kind regards, Aris Marghetis.

Thanks Neil, I did finish it, although it took dawn to dusk, which were beautiful too.Originally posted by Neil Frarey View PostGood luck, Aris!
Quaint distance of about 50km too!
Back in September my friend finished her walk of the entire Pacific Crest Trail ... 4,265km!!! ... began the PCT about 5.5 months earlier in late April!!!
Just because she wanted too, ha!
This month for me it's NNN, ha! I doubt very much that I'll finish the month ... LOOL!!!
Good luck on your ultra-walk-run ... you can do this!
Had absolutely perfect weather in Ottawa for it, which helped (I'm quite stocky lol)
Donations in the first 24 hours have exceeded all of Movember 2021, so humbling.
