Hi everyone,
I am excited and looking forward to supporting the 2025 Maritime Chess Festival coming up this Thanksgiving in Summerside, PEI from October 10-13, hosted by Fred McKim
More details about the Festival can be found at this link. I would encourage anyone who can make it out to sign up for the event and not miss out on what will undoubtedly be a great celebration of the game this Thanksgiving, featuring a strong field and 5 exciting tournaments to suit everyone's tastes and skill levels, including an Open Championship that will have a FIDE-Rated top section. This is one of the true annual staples of chess not only in the Maritimes, but in the country
It appears likely that the FIDE-Rated (Championship Section) of the Open Championship will have the right mix of FIDE-Rated players to support the possibility of an FA norm to be earned by an accredited National Arbiter (NA) seeking a norm towards their FIDE Arbiter (FA) title. If you are an NA seeking an FA norm and would be interested in supporting this event, please reach out to me at: daniel.rokhvarger@yahoo.ca and we can speak further
Please note: This only applies to NAs who do not have a previous FA norm attained from a Swiss tournament with less than 7 rounds (only one such event can count towards your title)
