Ottawa Winter Open: important late points
Hi chess friends, the 1st round of the Ottawa Winter Open will be this Friday, and there are a couple of important points to note between now and then :
1) As I am working out-of-town for most of Thursday, there will be no registrations taken at the RA chess club that evening. So in order to be fair, any registrations/payments made onsite on Friday, will benefit from Thursday prices, which are $10 less. Please email me if you intend to register/pay onsite!
2) I had announced that ratings/sections could be adjusted, as appropriate. So in the interest of ensuring fairness in going for our larger cash prizes, on Friday, I will check everyone for an established FIDE rating. If that is higher than their CFC Regular rating, then their rating/section will be per FIDE rating.

The Eastern Ontario Chess Association (EOCA) organizes the EOCA Grand Prix, a series of weekend tournaments over the 2010-2011 chess season.
The next EOCA event in Ottawa is the Ottawa Winter Open, set for January 14th-16th. It will consist of 5 rounds, with flexible bye and discount options.
We are planning 5 sections (rated CFC, upper sections also rated FIDE), and prizes for every 200 rating points (last 3 Ottawa events averaged >$2700!)
