The Hamilton August Series 2012 will begin Wednesday August 8, and then will go one game a week until Wednesday September 5th. Entry fee for this event is $3.50 plus room rent. (Rent is 3 dollars which is covered by a club membership.) Should you wish to play for prize money you can enter the optional prize fund for 5 additional dollars.
Then on Wednesday September 12 we will have our annual meeting followed by a 15 minute tournament. Due to the many changes at the club this will be a very important meeting so make sure you attend! If there is an issue you feel is important enough to be discussed at our meeting please email it to us at chesshamilton@gmail.com to get it on the agenda.
(If our club moves to Fridays before September 12, the Annual meeting will be on Friday September 14).
We will be trying to start our club championship FRIDAY September 21. Please note we will not start the championship until we can move the club back to Fridays, so there is a possibility it will be delayed this year as we work out our rental situation.
Please remember that for the summer and part of September our club is at the Canadian Red Cross, Hamilton Location 400 King Street East. When you come to the club you must go to the back door of the Red Cross and ring the buzzer. You can best find parking and the Red Cross back door via West Avenue South off either King or Main Street. If for some reason parking runs out at the back club members are allowed to park at the front and then walk to the back.
Registration for all our Summer events will be Wednesdays at 7pm. You can come play casual chess as of 6pm.
