To the best of your knowledge has any applicant, of those who have played in the CYCC, been denied?

Would a player who was clearly strong enough to make a plus score in the WYCC/WCCC but who didn't play in the CYCC be able to make an application?

No one has been denied in the past three iterations though we did warn one player of what they were signing up for and that player heeded the warning and with excellent coaching help finished just one point behind the official player and played about 500 points above his CFC rating.

The answer to your second question is yes. There is a procedure in place. It costs an extra $300 versus the $150 that a player who went to CYCC would have to pay. Last year one of the players that went this route was even the official player though we did not pay for her flight since she didn't win the flight subsidy. The fees are probably a bit low relative to our costs of these extra players and every year there are suggestions that we should raise them.

The criteria for skipping the CYCC and being allowed to go to the WYCC is stricter.
