  • Battle of Toronto II - A FIDE Rating Round-Robin

    Hi to Ontario Chess Players:

Below please find the flyer for the FIDE round-robin tournament, Battle of Toronto II. In the Fall of 2012, Canadian Chess Consulting Service (CCCS) held the successful Battle of Toronto I.

If you would like to play, and put your name into one of the registration pools, please contact me ASAP.

Unfortunately, I must close registrations on Wed., Sept. 4, in order to be able to register the tournament with FIDE one month prior to the start. So there is only a short window of opportunity to register.

Also, could you advise any chess friends you think might be interested?

    Thanks.

Bob Armstrong, Coordinator, Canadian Chess Consulting Service, Organizer

              Only 2 More Needed!

We just need one more FIDE-rated player and one more non-FIDE-rated player for this tournament to take wing!

Tell your chess friends about this opportunity to start on the path to a FIDE rating. Note that this is not so easy for lower-rated players, who can't often get into a FIDE-rated section in a regular swiss, because there are limitations on "playing up". Here a non-FIDE rated player will have 4 opportunities to defeat a FIDE-rated player, and get the treasured FIDE "part-result" on the way to a rating.

After all, you can always come and defeat me, the lowest-rated FIDE player! LOL
