Irina is the only woman to ever have beaten me. She undoubtedly deserve the title. :)

The "Intrinsic Performance Rating" of 2497 which I computed for Krush in the 2011 Canadian Open is actually among the lower IPR's I have for her, and anything higher is considered GM standard. Several from US Wch's are over 2600, but those don't count as norms. The same model shows no rating inflation.

How it happened in her own words: http://www.uschess.org/content/view/12378/729/

    About the last game:
"We took a look at what he played, and my coach said “take on d5 if he plays the Slav.” Then he instructed me to offer a draw on move seven, and appealed to Botvinnik's authority: “Botvinnik said to do this.”" LOL

I think her results come from hard work not from inflation.
Shaw's history of crushing on male players here might be instructive why he has trouble respecting a really talented female player.

    Congratulations Irina Krush

Seems like she has achieved her final GM norm and pushed her rating over 2500 at the just-completed Baku tournament.
I saw this on Pogonina's blog (http://pogonina.com/index.php?option...tpage&Itemid=1) and I believe Susan Polgar
    has also tweeted about it...

Well done Irina! Well deserved and overdue!
Working...
