    Hi Kerry,

Don't forget the old chess maxim, "a point is a point".

As a result of the forfeit, Dlugy got stronger players and managed only a single draw in his last two games. Ivanov got a couple of weak players for his loss and made 1 1/2 out of 2 points. I guess the super computer he supposedly has in his shoe wasn't strong enough to give him 2 wins. Final result was Dlugy and Ivanov tied with the same number of points in the event.

It is interesting to note Dlugy had a performance rating of a mere 2377 while Ivanov blew him away with a performance rating of 2396. 2377 is quite a weak performance rating for a GM with a rating of over 2500.

He only scored 1 point from 4 games against opponents rated over 2400.

Yes. They fried the fish, put up the points, and finished tied for first.
