  • Deadlocked U.S. Congress passes bill for National Chess Week

In spite of the ridiculous and worrying situation with budget deadlock in Washington, a nice bill managed to get approved.

Senator Jay Rockefeller, Democrat of West Virginia, sponsored a bill to declare Oct. 7 to 13 as National Chess Week in the country, and this was passed. :)

Maybe some of these politicians could settle their differences over a game of chess!!

Obamacare is a big plus for the average person in Canada. It might stop Americans from coming to Canada for health care and taking up beds in our hospitals.

I once sat with someone in a neurological ward and listened to a doctor negotiating his fee with an American who was paying cash. There were only sheets hanging around the beds and the voices weren't hard to hear.

I'm rooting for Obama on this one.
