  • ChessBase12 - saving in .pgn format

In previous versions, one simply specified .pgn as the format when saving the game(s).
In CB12, it seems to force a default to .cbh format.
    Any advice?

To save a game you have to state which database you are saving it to (or already have a database open). When you originally create the database you can specify whether it is .cbh or pgn (it is the database which is in a given format, not the individual games). Or save the game in a .cbh file, create a new pgn database, then copy the game over - the game will be converted to pgn.

You can also select the games in Chessbase from a cbh file, do a right click -> Output -> Selection to Text file... and select pgn format

Click File then Save Game As and from the Files of Type field, click on Drop-Down Arrow and choose *.PGN
