CMA Ottawa : October monthly

Hi chess families, the second CMA Ottawa monthly tournament of the new 2013-2014 season was held this past Sunday. We are pleased to report our numbers jumped 25% (40-50) from last month, expanding to 8 sections! In addition, it was especially fun to welcome 10 new players to the Chess&Math tournament fold!

We have moved to a new location this year, the Walter Baker Centre at 100 Malvern, which offers lots of free parking, a delicious cafeteria on the same floor, and a wonderfully expansive space that permits parents easy watching of their children as they play. And on a quiet Sunday, this location is surprisingly quick to drive to!

Our next Ottawa monthly is scheduled for November 24th. Pencil it in, and hope to see you there after noon!

Thanks Larry! And Brad is delightfully supportive to work with, a complete class act! This last weekend, we had players from as far away as Casselman, and I believe as people realize the new location is actually quite easy to get to on a Sunday, our numbers will keep increasing. Parents also love watching their kids in the huge area we have.
