My latest assignment for the North Atlantic Team Tournament VI.

I've played 3 of these players previously, one three times. It's always nice to meet an old friend again. Another player, from Norway, is a message board friend. He's a GM who plays the Winawer. :) There is a GM norm possibly so that I have incentive and a goal.

On a scale of Petrosian to Tal, where Petrosian is very conservative and positional, and Tal is balls-out, agressive and dynamic, what sort of style of play is most successful in Correspondance Chess?

My friend (IM OTB and SM CC) told me, the best way to beat computers is to go crazy active with a lot of possibilities. I've not tried as I'm not in CC business

You need to play solid lines. If sacrifices are solid they are OK. Mistakes are not forgiven. This was the same in the 70's before computers.

So simple is chess. I'm surprised everyone is not winning. :)

I like to try out lines and openings. Also I like to work out long lines so CC suits me fine. It's something to do.

Who is your friend? Maybe I have played him or directed an event he's played in.
