  • looking for insights regarding Iqaluit

Hi there, I have an upcoming gig in Iqaluit for a few days. Even though I'll be busy there, I tend to use my cell phone a LOT for texting. My cell phone is with Rogers, and they tell me that my "Canada plan" does NOT include the territories (I hate how Rogers just lies). So, any ideas for working around this? For example, does the Iqaluit airport have a kiosk that offers temporary cell phones for a few days? Should I assume web-email would be fine?

P.S. Any chess in Iqaluit?! :)

I think I would enjoy being incommunicado.

Wow, that's a fantastic opportunity. Bring back photos. :-)

Hi Tom, thanks for the encouraging words! The organizers are being tremendously supportive, for example, the paid-for flights are 4 figures, single hotel room accommodations, meals, etc. The whole thing is exciting, as when else in life would one head so far north in winter "for fun"?! Pictures might be rare, sunset is 6 hours after sunrise!
