I would like to let my GTA CFC Member constituents, and GTA Chess Organizations, know that I have decided not to run again for one of the GTA CFC Governor positions for 2014-5.

I've enjoyed my stint representing you, and will seek to continue on the GTCL Board of Directors, as a Director-at-Large (GTCL President, Michael Barron, has agreed to nominate me for this position at the April GTCL AGM). I'd be pleased to have you attend the GTCL April AGM and cast a vote for me! :)

I'm sure the GTA has lots of good candidates to run for GTA CFC Governors at the GTCL April AGM - CFC Members just need to seek them out, and do a bit of arm-twisting (the volunteer commitment need only be for one year at a time).

I have also enjoyed being CFC Public Relations Coordinator these past number of years, but have decided I will not run for this position at the CFC July AGM either, as an ordinary CFC member (one does not have to be a governor to be elected to this non-executive officer position, as far as I know).

Thanks to everyone who supported my various CFC initiatives over the last 5 years as a CFC Governor. It's been a learning experience, and overall enjoyable.

Bob Armstrong, CFC GTA/Ont. Governor & CFC Public Relations Coordinator
