Chess Café Relaunching
I would say that many people keep up with the latest chess news by reading Chess Café’s Daily Chess News Links each day.

While the Features have been kept up to date this month, the columns have been replaced with an announcement:
Look for a new column when we relaunch in May.
Except for the redoubtable Tim Harding with this link

Giving the message:
Kibitzer hiatus
Due to an imminent reorganisation of The Chess Cafe website, where the owners say they will post no new columns for three months. I have been asked to write my next Kibitzer column for a deadline in early May 2014.
In the meantime I plan to post some new articles or updates of older articles here.
Starting with:
Frankenstein and Dracula at the chessboard
and
Zukertort's mystery tour in Dublin, 1879
More articles will be posted in March.
______________
No news of what is happening to the site has leaked out. Are they running into financial difficulties?
I have looked at the books for sale and there are many e-books and no really recent printed books. They have a lot of the McFarland books but these are aimed at libraries, collectors and historians – hardly best sellers.
I hope that it really is just a relaunch and that Chess Café is with us for years to come.
