Erindale Open - May 3rd & 4th
Hi all,
A new tournament is coming up in Erindale (Mississauga area) on the first weekend of May.
Erindale Open Chess Tournament
Date: May 3rd & 4th 2014 (Saturday & Sunday)
Where: Palestine House, 3195 Erindale Station Road, Erindale, Mississauga
Style: 5 round Swiss in 3 sections: Open (FIDE Rated), U2000 & U1600
Rounds: Saturday 10am, 2:30pm & 6:30pm. Sunday 10am & 3pm
Time Control: 90 mins 30 sec increment for Open Section; 120 mins sudden death for U2000 & U1600 Sections
Registration: In advance by May 1st by email.
Registrants after May 1st are not guaranteed to be paired Round 1.
Email registration to chess_wajdi@yahoo.com (by May 1st – otherwise considered late). Email registrants must arrive onsite before 9:30am
May 3rd to pay or will be charged onsite fee.
Membership: Registrants must be current CFC members or bring payment prior to playing. http://chess.ca/membership-rates
Entry Fees: $50 if e-mailed in advance, $70 late onsite. Extra $20 to play up each section.
Free for IMs by April 26th, regular fee afterwards.
Byes: Maximum of 2 in rounds 1-4 if requested in advance.
Palestine House: 1 minute drive from either intersection Dundas St. West & Erindale Station Rd, or 5 minutes from Burthamthorpe Rd West & Mavis Rd.
Other Info: Free Parking.
Restaurants within a 1 minute drive or 6-7 minute walk of playing hall.
Please bring chess sets and clocks.
Prizes: $2,100 based on 50 entries, 70% of all entry fees going for prize fund.
