That is one tough schedule. Good Luck to both Dave and Raja. Thanks for pointing out the tournament.

In rd 5 (half way) IM Sam Sevian is leading the pack. At 13 he is the youngest competitor in the field and on track for his second GM norm. C'mon Raja lets see a win or two! (with all respect Im cheering for you!) In the IM section Dave Ross is holding his own. Impressive.

Looks like Ross is up the exchange in his round 5 game. Let's hope he can bring home the point!

IM Sam Sevian all of 13 yrs of age did not let a loss stop hime and he finished with the powerhouse score of 6.5 out of 9 to win the tournament and score his second GM norm. Another tournament like it soon and he will be a GM - youngest GM in American history. Kayden Troff confirmed his GM title with a close second finish of 6. Kayden is an relative elderly age 16. The future looks bright for all the young American GM's. St louis with a GM round robin and IM round robin was norm rich with 2 GM norms and Seth Homa got his IM norm. Dave Ross had a solid impressive score of 1 (no losses!) consider he was 7th by rating going in.

Id love to but my FIDE rating is too low (2115). Its incentive to get it up but short of Viagra or a computer chip implant in my brain Im not sure its possible.

Too bad we only have 1 norm tournament in Canada this year (Canadian Open over 2400 section). I didn't count the invitational tournaments (Edmonton and Calgary International) where local players have priority over higher rated juniors. Maybe Larry will bring back the CMA Futurity tournaments.
