Suggestion 1...g6 - trying for a Rat in the Canadian style.

Rats. When do we share the Canadian Rat song with them?

                      I vote for 2...Nf6, dissuading e4.

                        2.Nf6 looks interesting for me.

I like 2....Bg7. Keeps the possibility of a Modern Defence open , with maybe ....c5 at some point ( with no ...Nf6 in the way - keeps the B available as an attacking piece ).

I thought we were going to play the Rat - therefore no Nf6 or the Rat vanishes. I vote for Bg7 to keep the Rat alive!

                              Hi Hans:

I'm familiar with the Modern Defence. How does the Rat usually unfold?
