Canadian Master Predrag Putic passed away this week in Toronto. A popular teacher,
and strong player, he taught for the Chess 'N Math Association, the Chess Academy
of Canada, Upper Canada College and a host of other institutions. He was an isolani in
many ways, but somehow, somewhere, had a soft spot and kept in touch - we shared a
meal earlier this month, he was complimentary and gracious, and for once, laughed a lot!

Predrag had a number of programs going on in Toronto, and will be sorely missed by the
many children (and parents) who learnt so much from him. He ran an interesting website
that had everything about chess, and more - it was clear that he loved the game dearly:

A celebration of his life will take place tomorrow, Saturday June 28th, at 11:30 am at Saints
Peter and Paul Church (1039 Dundas Street W, at Dundas and Neyagawa Blvd.), in Oakville.

His mortal remains will I understand, be flown to his native Serbia.
"Life's too short for chess." (Henry J. Byron).
Predrag was only 50.
Gligoric awaits you Predrag, along with a host of others in the celestial kingdom of Caissa!
Do Videnja.
