That quote is just so much gibberish, since there is no objective and universal "lesser evil".

To give one powerful example: to Adolf Hitler, the greater evil to German society was having Jews as German citizens with full rights of citizenship. And so he chose what he considered a 'lesser evil' that involved extermination.

Sorry Vlad... you were trying to look wise, and I just exposed your quote and its entire postulate as an epic fail.

    Going even further with this:

    http://www.salon.com/2013/09/17/the_..._ever_partner/

    Some excerpts:

"When people are misinformed, giving them facts to correct those errors only makes them cling to their beliefs more tenaciously."

"More and better facts don’t turn low-information voters into well-equipped citizens. It just makes them more committed to their misperceptions. In the entire history of the universe, no Fox News viewers ever changed their minds because some new data upended their thinking. When there’s a conflict between partisan beliefs and plain evidence, it’s the beliefs that win. The power of emotion over reason isn’t a bug in our human operating systems, it’s a feature."

This puts a lot of things into proper perspective:

    - Nigel Hanrahan's rants which answer contra-indicating facts (or his exposed lack of supporting facts) with "lol".

    - Vlad Drkulec turning away and continuing to insult a sponsor like Sid Belzberg because "Sid's offer had strings attached", even after Sid corrected that impression before the voting members' straw poll on which FIDE Presidential candidate to support

    - Vlad Drkulec refusing to even contact anyone from the Kasparov campaign, and when painted into a corner by Robert Hamilton in a clean and clear debate, responding to Robert with childish, emotional cheap shots

    - Steve Douglas treating valid, probing questions on CFC executive actions asked by Sasha Starr as the behavior of a troll
    Only the rushing is heard...
    Onward flies the bird.

Errr ... Thanks to you both, Vlad, Paul.

SOOO ... I see the Canada's open team plays Brazil next! Looks like a pretty even match! Any bets on this one?

This match should be winnable for our team.

Paul, so many words and yet so little insight.
